I liked her, I really did

just for a while.

I even felt, for a little while,

Like I really did love her.

I toyed, then, with the idea,

For a short while there

that, perhaps, we could wed

maybe even have kids

but just for a while

Then it passed

Just like that

And I wondered

After a while

I looked and I saw not

I sought and I found not

And I wondered what it was

That I'd thought I'd found
